Now to epoxy and 2k the outside of the body

Well got the car masked up again for the outside of the car to get a little epoxy and 2k. I should invest in 3M tape I'm going through so damn much..LOL

Look at that black gold ready to spray.

Epoxy at it's best.

This could be your lungs if you don't have a good respirator and industrial exhaust fan that can suck chrome off a bumper. Do you don't need a respirator eh..

2k applied..Now for another round of messy sanding.

Getting the car ready for some epoxy and single stage in certain areas

Well got a bunch of stuff all masked off for epoxy and paint some single stage only in certain areas.

A little epoxy

The inside of the fenders were sprayed with epoxy and now I added some rock schultz type stuff. To keep the stone chips down on the inside of the fenders. Gonna use the same stuff in other areas to help with noise and stone chipping.

And wow finally some color. I like the green. This is the factory color. Ivy gold according to PPG.

Getting the garage ready for priming and painting

Thought I had more pics of the garage prep. I guess not.

Filters all set up to suck the over spray and heavy VOC.

You can see some of the plastic up

My cross draft filters and door to get to the fridge and other side of the garage.

I put up 8 four foot 2 bulb 8t lights in the ceiling of the gargae and made these up for the sides so I can see better. Never enough light when painting. I borrowed the 4 bulb lights from a buddy.

Getting close to paint

Well getting close to primer and then base/clear. Ordered the epoxy and 2k primer from a company called SPI. Read a lot of good things, also on it way is by HVLP Deblviss Finishline 3.

Man the garage is a mess.

Hood is done and ready.

Can't remember the last time the fenders were on, got them lined up and ready for paint.

Somebody cobbled up the dash trying to get the ignition out, a little bondo will fix that.

A buddy lent me this industrial fan, explosion proof, made a simple filter box to catch the overspray.

Dash stripped and ready for a new coat of white once the epoxy is on.

Steering column almost ready for paint.

Went over the body one more time with 80grit ready for primer.

Put 8 8t fluorscent lights in the ceiling, and got these all set for the sides of the car so I can see where I am painting.

Bunch of exterior parts sandblased and ready for paint.

Got the emblems on order, once they come in can drill the holes and then the fenders will be ready for primer.

Working on getting the bottom of the trunk area cleaned up before I hit it with the epoxy and single stage paint.

Getting the decklid all cleaned up. Had to use paint stripper and a lot of 80grit DA discs and do you like my makeshift outdoor sand blast area, did the hood as well.

As you can see my original doors were junk, got a set of doors for 50 bucks, only had to do one patch, but had to skin both doors as you can see they had some damage over the years. Skinning the doors was way easier than trying to bump and bondo the originals.
